Data 3 Shares Hit Record High as FY26 Profit, AI and Cloud Demand Impress Investors

Data#3 Limited (ASX: DTL) shares surged to a record high on Monday, 24 August 2026, after the Australian technology solutions provider delivered another year of record earnings.

The share price climbed as much as ~18% to A$11.10 during trading, substantially outperforming the S&P/ASX 200, which gained approximately 0.6%.

For the financial year ended 30 June 2026, Data#3 reported gross sales of A$3.39 billion, representing growth of 12.7% from the previous year. Statutory revenue increased 6.4% to A$907.3 million, while gross profit rose 5.3% to A$305.2 million.

Earnings growth was particularly strong. Earnings before interest and tax advanced 16.6% to A$69.8 million, while net profit before tax increased 14% to A$78.8 million. Net profit after tax rose 13.1% to A$54.5 million, supported by higher sales, disciplined cost management and improved operating leverage.

Demand remained healthy across Data#3’s core technology solutions. Infrastructure Solutions gross sales grew by more than 14%, supported by end-user computing, enterprise networking and data-centre requirements. Software Solutions also achieved record gross sales of A$2.3 billion, rising 14.1% amid demand for security products, cloud services and Microsoft Azure subscriptions.

Artificial intelligence emerged as an important growth area, with AI-related solutions recording growth of more than 100%. Public Cloud Azure and security sales increased 29% and 21%, respectively. The company also benefited from continued customer spending on digital transformation, cybersecurity and hybrid-cloud infrastructure.

Shareholders will receive a fully franked final dividend of 18.25 cents per share, bringing the FY26 dividend to 31.75 cents—a 13% annual increase. The final dividend is scheduled for payment on 30 September 2026 to eligible shareholders registered on 16 September.

Looking ahead, Data#3 plans to establish a dedicated AI Practice and customer-facing AI delivery teams during FY27. It also intends to invest in a new Australian 24/7 Sovereign Security Operations Centre.

Although no specific FY27 earnings guidance was provided, management said the new financial year had started strongly. Investors should nevertheless monitor global supply conditions, customer procurement cycles, economic confidence and the sustainability of AI-related demand.
